Where's the Marketing?

I see many business conferences around the country where they are promoting speakers and training on accounting, government regulations, human resources, office layout, product design, mediation, etc, etc. Where is the training and ideas on marketing and customer satisfaction? That's what's keeps a business IN BUSINESS and without it there is no need for any of that other stuff. Every conference should address the fact that many businesses need to grow and keep the customers/clients they now have to survive. That's the basic principle of being in business, isn't it (unless you're the government)?

I have always felt that if everything else goes wrong and you have sales you can make a comeback and handle the other problems. Without sales or a falling market share there are no resources to learn and use anything else, so who needs it. I have owned many businesses that went though tough times when others would have just walked away but I stopped everything else and concentrated on increasing sales. All rsouurces went into growing sales and customer satisfaction. As a result I saw a turn-aound in almost all situations back to a healthy company.

I feel every conference/convention should have at least one or more speakers or training class on marketing ideas, sales ideas and improving The Customer Experience. The market is always changing whether you like it or not and you must keep up with what the people who pay you want and anticipate their future needs. So ask your association or conference planners what you will learn to grow your business if you attend their event. If enough people make the request the will have to listen and add these valuable speakers.
